Harold Stinson

Harold Hill Stinson was born June 11, 1952 to Charley Harry and Mildred Pegues Stinson, in Memphis TN. He was one of 13 children. He was lovingly and appropriately known as Big Boy.

Harold was united in Holy matrimony to Alma Kneeland Stinson. God blessed Harold and Alma with two daughters, Ora and Mildred. He was employed in various leadership positions at Midland Foods, Cash & Carry, Catlin Catering Services and MLG&W. He later decided to start his own company, Stinson &Stinson General Contracting, where he worked closely with his family at Peyton Realtors and South Parkway Daycare Centers.

In retirement, he dedicated his days to spending time and spoiling his grandkids. He worked tirelessly doing yard work,home repairs and even sitter services for everyone in his family. 

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Alma; two daughters, Dr. Ora Reshah Pettiford (Tyrone) of Cedar Hill, TX and Dr.Mildred Stinson Snell (Jarrod, Sr.) of Memphis, TN; his grandchildren, Zakyra Powers, Dareon Sorrell, Alida Snell, and Jarrod Snell, Jr., several grandchildren through marriages; 2 sisters, Vivian Wright and Harriett Huggins; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, great and great-great nieces and nephews, friends and old colleagues. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Mildred Stinson; three sisters, Joyce Hendree, Geraldine Perry and Dorothy Dorsey; seven brothers, Harry Douglas, Larry, Conrad, Lazarus, George, Roy and Baby Boy Stinson.

He departed this life February 16, 2025, but his smile, spirit and wisdom will live on within all of those who were blessed to know and love Mr. Harold “Big Boy” Stinson.
